Everett L. Nottingham

Funeral services for Everett L. Nottingham, 86, rural Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Tom Brady officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Nottingham died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at his residence.
He was born May 27, 1923, in rural Jefferson County, the son of Jonathan E. and Mamie E. Lane Nottingham. He graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1941.
Mr. Nottingham was a farmer and dairyman. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Douglas County Farm Bureau and Lawrence Co-op. He served on the original Jefferson County Rural Water Board for 19 years.
He married Doris Irene Landis on Oct. 19, 1947, in Lawrence. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Lyle D. and wife Barbara, Paris, Texas, and David L. and wife Jeanne, Lawrence; a brother, James A., Charlottesville, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Linda Nottingham; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dale A., in 1995; a brother, Johnathan O.; and three sisters, Roberta Nottingham, Mary Herrick and Rowena Curl.
Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
