Dorothy Elizabeth Calhoun 1914 - 2009 Merriam
Funeral services for Dorothy Elizabeth Calhoun, 95, Merriam, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
She died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at Sunrise Assisted Living.
She was born Oct. 3, 1914, in Douglas County, the daughter of Elmer and Mae Stanwix.
Mrs. Calhoun was an antiques dealer. She owned and operated Elizabeth’s Cellar in Merriam.
She spent most of her life in Merriam.
She married John Calhoun on Oct. 30, 1937, in Douglas County. He preceded her in death in November 1983.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Maurine Ingalls in 2006 and Janette Prince in 2008.
Survivors include one sister, Eleanor Jean Tipton, Longmont, Colo.; three nieces, Cindy Eller, Sari Sackrider and Jane Tipton; two nephews, Jon Ingalls and Michael Tipton; and several great-nieces and nephews and many great-great-nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday, Dec. 30, at the mortuary.
