Marcena Faye Sherlock

Funeral services for Marcena Faye Sherlock, 81, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Baldwin City Church of Christ, 203 10th St., with David Sherlock officiating. Burial will be in Deay Cemetery, Douglas County.
Mrs. Sherlock died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 14, 1928, in Douglas County, the daughter of Emery and Jessie Dover Vitt.
Mrs. Sherlock was a homemaker and caregiver. She had worked at the Mode O’Day plant in Ottawa and later worked in the admissions/development offices at Baker University for several years.
She was a member of Baldwin City Church of Christ.
She married Earnest Paul Sherlock on Jan. 1, 1945, in Ottawa. They were married for 57 years. He died May 24, 2002.
She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include three children, David D. and wife Connie, Independence, Cindy C. McGill, Pleasanton, and Stuart S. and wife Rhonda, Baldwin City; six grandchildren, Kim Waggoner, Shawn Sherlock, Tom McGill, Marcy Lang, Amanda Turner and Jennifer Cooper; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale Vitt and wife Helen, Claycomo, Mo.; an aunt, Pauline Johnson; a niece, Connie Jones; and several cousins.
Friends may call from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 712 Ninth St., Baldwin City.
