Lee L. Giese

Oskaloosa — Funeral services for Lee L. Giese, 75, Ozawkie, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery in Oskaloosa.
Mr. Giese died Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at the F.W. Huston Memorial Hospital in Winchester.
He was born Dec. 3, 1934, in Kingman County, the son of Otto W. and Ruth M. Martin Giese. He had lived in the Ozawkie area many years.
Mr. Giese graduated from Norwich High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959. He worked as a carpenter through local carpenters unions in Topeka and Kansas City.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10815 in Meriden.
He married Doris Maye Gano on Aug. 30, 1974, in Topeka. She died Aug. 13, 2003.
Survivors include a son, Mark, Ozawkie; two brothers, Kenneth, Kansas City, Mo., and Keith, Elgin; three sisters, Barbara Dietsch, Wichita, Peggy Gilick, Crescent, Okla., and Shelia Verser, Camano Island, Wash.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family will meet friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday before services.
