Delmas K. Windholz

Services for Delmas K. Windholz, 74, Lawrence, will be at noon Saturday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church in Victoria. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Emmeram.
Mr. Windholz died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.
He was born Feb. 8, 1935, at Emmeram, the son of Adam J. and Anna Scheck Windholz.
He worked for Dillons for 16 years and was a candy and fabric salesman for the Kansas division for about 20 years. He had moved to Lawrence in 1960 from Hutchinson.
He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church Lawrence.
He married Mary Maley on May 26, 1956, in Hutchinson. She died Aug. 10, 2009.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Penny Leigh Windholz; one brother, Charles Windholz; five sisters, Sister Margaret Louise Windholz C.S.J., Leona Tallman, Lucy Hertel, Regina Mai and Theckla Gross; and one infant brother, Ernest Windholz.
Survivors include a son, Tim Windholz and wife Gretchen, Lawrence; two daughters, Joni Bontrager and husband Jerry, Lawrence, and Jennifer Schwarz, Olathe; three sisters, Edna Tope, Arlington, and Georgine Leiker and Lioba Schmidt, both of Hutchinson; seven grandchildren, Timothy Loper, Shelby Garlock, Adam Loper, Brooks Schwarz, Heidi Windholz, Hannah Windholz and James Windholz; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will meet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with a vigil service at 6:30 p.m., at Cline’s Mortuary in Hays. The family will also meet friends from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the mortuary.
