John Thomas Murray Sr.

Camdenton, Mo. — A funeral mass for John Thomas Murray Sr., 89, Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., took place Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Camdenton, Mo. Burial took place at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Tonganoxie.
Mr. Murray died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, in Osage Beech, Mo.
He was born April 2, 1920, in Centralia, Mo., the son of Charles and Agnes Burt Murray. He was a former resident of Tonganoxie.
He attended school in Cameron, Mo., and was an Eagle Scout. He graduated from pharmacy school at University of Missouri-Kansas City. He served in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps from 1941 to the end of World War II.
Mr. Murray was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th degree.
He married Rose Mary Crowley in 1945 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kan. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Judith Murray; five sons, John T. Jr. and wife Mitsuko, Charles M. and wife Gayle, Gregory B., Alan J., and Chris M.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James W.; a brother, Charles Robert; and a sister, Mary Frances Kemper.
