Mary Louise Hayden

A graveside service for Mary Louise Hayden, 85, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Hayden died Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at her home.
She was born Oct. 12, 1923, in Williamstown, the daughter of Edward F. Minnie Button Buerman. She graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1942.
Mrs. Hayden worked at First National Bank and Wickes Lumber. She was a charter member of Brookdale Home Demonstration Unit and North Lawrence Christian Church, and was active in the First Baptist Church for many years.
She married Ellis Ralph Hayden on June 5, 1942, in Ottawa. He survives, of the Arbor at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.
Other survivors include a son, Stanley Ellis and wife Linda, Lawrence; a daughter, Mary Karen Fraser, Lawrence; a brother, Jimmy Buerman, Topeka; two sisters, Phyllis Helen Silkey, Topeka, and Barbara Jane Crumet, Tonganoxie; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hayden was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Linda Lou Butell in 1972; and a brother, E. LeRoy Buerman in 1995.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive them from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday.
The family suggests memorials to the North Lawrence Christian Church, or Douglas County Visiting Nurses, Rehabilitation and Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home.
