Charles H. Brown Jr. 1925 - 2009 Lawrence
No services are planned for Charles H. Brown Jr., 84, Lawrence.
Mr. Brown died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at his home.
He was born Feb. 5, 1925, in Wilmington, Del., the son of Charles H. Sr. and Myrtle May Lee Brown.
Mr. Brown graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1949. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam conflict. He retired as a lieutenant colonel after 23 years of service. He later worked for 20 years in the appraiser’s office of the county of Charlotte, Fla.
He married Joyce Lisbeth Abele on July 6, 1949, in Wilmington. She preceded him in death on May 4, 2001.
He was also preceded in death by a sister.
Survivors include a daughter, Sarah “Sally” Baker and husband Douglas A., Lawrence; a granddaughter, Jennifer L. Jordan; and a great-grandchild.
The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
