William H. Davidson

A private graveside memorial service for William H. “Bill” Davidson, 82, Tonganoxie, will be at a later date.
Mr. Davidson died Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 31, 1926, in Wilsey, the son of Clinton William and Augusta Emily Facklam Davidson.
After graduating from White City High School, Mr. Davidson served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He later served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Mr. Davidson retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. after 26 years of service. He then pursued a career as a sales representative for Modern American Life Insurance Co. and ICH Companies, where he received many awards. He was a member of the Shawnee Heights Christian Church and later the Northland Christian Church, both in Topeka.
He married Peggy L. Koeppen on July 25, 1950, in Topeka. She died April 24, 2002.
Survivors include a daughter, Terri S. Cummings, Tonganoxie; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the Quisenberry Funeral Home in Tonganoxie.
