Merle Leroy Large 1944 - 2009 Kingston, Mo.
Kingston, Mo. — Memorial Services for Merle Leroy “Guy” Large, Kingston, Mo., will be 5 p.m. Friday at the Nazarene Church in Kingston. Burial will be in De Soto Cemetery in De Soto, Kan., at a later date.
Mr. Large died Friday, July 31, 2009, at Heartland Hospital in St. Joseph, Mo.
He was born Feb. 6, 1944, in Lenape, Leavenworth County in Kansas, to Leo Harvel and Gladys Rae Sedgwick Large.
He attended De Soto High School.
He retired from Burgh, Dunham & Associates Construction Company in Hamilton, Mo., as a drywall supervisor. His trade as a drywall construction operator took him throughout the United States.
He married Leota Rose Payton on May 13, 1961, at the Presbyterian Church in Olathe. They divorced. He married Jackie Jones. She survives, of the home.
Survivors include a son, Justin, Linwood, Kan.; two daughters, Martina Park, Overland Park, Kan., and Alicia McCleary, Linwood; a stepson, Grant Jones, of the home; two brothers, Burl Large and Francis Clements, Garnett, Kan.; a sister, Nadine Gash, Kentland, Ind.; and four grandchildren.
Alden-Harrington Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
