Marko Miscevich 1915 - 2009 Kansas City, Kan.

Lenexa — The funeral service for Marko Miscevich, 93, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Lenexa. Entombment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
Mr. Miscevich died Saturday, April 25, 2009, at his home.
He was born Dec. 1, 1915, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of George and Slava Zagar Miscevich. He grew up in Kansas City, Kan., and attended Wyandotte High School.
Mr. Miscevich joined the United States Navy as an aviation machinists mate for naval seaplanes during World War II. He played baseball for the Navy as catcher and second baseman, and played in the Ban Johnson League of Kansas City. He also competed in Golden Gloves boxing tournaments.
He worked for Kansas City Power & Light for 32 years, and retired in 1979.
He married Sophia Vukas on Dec. 22, 1946, in Kansas City, Kan. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Dennis M., of Stilwell; three daughters, Bonnie Kuhn, Greensburg, Monica Foltz, Perry, and Jodi Casey, Kearney, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters.
The family will meet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Kansas City, Kan., where Pomen will be at 7:30 p.m.
