Theodora Vega

Mass of Christian Burial for Theodora Vega, 103, Topeka, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Topeka. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Topeka.
Mrs. Vega died Sunday, April 19, 2009, at Brandon Woods at Alvamar in Lawrence.
She was born March 28, 1906, in Mexico, the daughter of Jose and Eleuteria Moreno Araujo.
Mrs. Vega was an egg-breaker for Seymour Packing Company in Topeka. She also worked in housekeeping for the State Office Building and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Vega was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, League of United Latin American Citizens Senior Center, and the Legion of Mary and the Altar Society at the church. She also enjoyed crocheting and doing crossword puzzles.
She married Anarbol H. Vega on June 23, 1927, in Logan. He preceded her in death Jan. 19, 1986.
Survivors include two sons, Henry A. Vega and wife Celia, Irvine, Calif., and Jesse “Chuey” Vega and wife Linda, Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Josephine Ramirez and husband Thomas, Lawrence, and Phyllis Allen, Mesa, Ariz.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, where a parish vigil service will begin at 6 p.m.
