Annette Thede

Funeral services for Annette Thede, 53, Boone, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the First Evangelical Free Church in Boone with the Rev. Jerry Bauman officiating. Burial will be in the Mackey Cemetery in Mackey.
Mrs. Thede, formerly of Lawrence, Kan., died Monday, April 13, 2009, at the Boone County Hospital.
She was born May 31, 1955, in Emmetsburg, the daughter of George and Mary Raper Gibson. She graduated from Boone High School in 1973.
For 11 years, she worked as a grocery checkout clerk at the Boone Fareway Store. After moving to Lawrence in 1999 she worked at the University National Bank as a teller for eight years. She and her husband returned to Iowa in 2007.
Mrs. Thede was a member of the First Evangelical Free Church in Boone. She enjoyed bowling at the Imperial Lanes in Boone, golfing, tennis, crocheting and sewing, and her cats. She was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and especially enjoyed times with her grandchildren.
She married Dennis Thede on April 28, 1974, in Boone. He survives, of Boone.
Other survivors include three daughters, Sara Thede and husband Scott Benter, of Webster City, Laura Kathman and husband Michael, of Boone, and Karen Thede, of Lawrence, Kan.; two brothers, Paul Drefke, of Kansas City, Kan., and Phil Drefke and wife Sandy, of Plano, Ill.; a sister, Francine Hamil and husband Tom, of Boone; three grandchildren, Lane and Morgan Kathman, and Jordan Benter; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Donald and Donna Thede, of Boone.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Kathleen Gibson Gregg.
Friends may call from noon until 8 p.m. Thursday at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel in Boone, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday. The family will also meet friends from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral chapel, then from noon until the service time at the First Evangelical Free Church.
