Maxine H. Chance Lawrence
Memorial services for Maxine H. Chance, 90, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Chance died Sunday, April 12, 2009, at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.
She was born in 1918 in Blackwell, Okla., the daughter of Aubrey A. and Marie S. Schultz Hart. She attended school in Blackwell, and later graduated from Friends University in Wichita.
Mrs. Chance was a floral designer and a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She married Ralph S. Chance on Oct. 25, 1940, in Blackwell, Okla. He survives in Lawrence.
Other survivors include two sons, Larry S., Lawrence, and Gary S., Frankston, Texas; a daughter, Barbara A. Inman, Lenexa; a brother, John Hart, Blackwell, Okla.; a sister, Pat Gillespie, Enid, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home & Crematory.
