Mark Edward Ross 1956 - 2009 Linwood
Eudora — Funeral services for Mark Edward Ross, 52, Linwood, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Eudora. Burial will follow at Mount Sidney Cemetery in Linwood.
Mr. Ross died Sunday, April 12, 2009, at Olathe Medical Center.
He was born April 17, 1956, in Olathe, the son of Robert Milen and Mary Anna Stuber Ross. He moved to Linwood in 1984.
He was a carpenter with Plaza Construction Co. in Kansas City, Mo.
He was a member of the Meat Cutter Union No. 576 for 15 years and the Carpenter Union No. 714 of Olathe for the past seven years.
Mr. Ross loved sports and especially enjoyed coaching and watching his children in their sports and musical activities. He had a passion for music and enjoyed writing songs, singing and playing his guitar and harmonica.
He married Cheryl Lynn Sipe on June 25, 1977, in Eudora. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include his parents, De Soto; two daughters, Sara K. Pierce and husband Joshua, Linwood, and Abby M. Ross and fiancé Kyle, Basehor; a son, Zachary E., Linwood; two brothers, Michael, De Soto, and Matthew, Linwood; four sisters, Suzanne Sherman and Stacy Kerr, both of De Soto, and Sally Foss and Sheryl Nunley, both of Topeka; and three grandchildren, Gracie, Gabriel and Garrett.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today at the De Soto Baptist Church, after which the family will meet friends until 8:30 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to Basehor-Linwood High School Strength and Conditioning Program or the Holy Family Catholic Church.
