Marjorie W. Swartz

A memorial reception for Marjorie W. “Skeet” Swartz, 93, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor in the first floor dining room.
Mrs. Swartz died Friday, April 10, 2009, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.
She was born Feb. 22, 1916, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Laurence Clyde and Mabel Estelle Culver Wilson. She attended Wyandotte High School and graduated from Dwight High School in Dwight.
Mrs. Swartz was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church for 50 years and Order of the Eastern Star No. 318 of Dwight. She was a homemaker and a volunteer at Lawrence Memorial Hospital for several years. She was also employed by North American Aviation Corp., in Inglewood, Calif., during World War II.
She married Harold “Pete” Swartz on Nov. 10, 1937. He preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Laurence; two sisters, Vera and Clytie; and a son-in-law, Charles Sadler.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Sadler, Overland Park; a son, David Swartz and wife Denise, Lawrence; a sister, Jo Patten, Sun City, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Amy Spooner, Ryan Swartz and Kelly Sadler.
The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Presbyterian Manor, the Heart of America Hospice, or the Trinity Lutheran Church, sent in care of Lawrence Funeral Chapel.
