Phyllis Jane Hines 1924 - 2009 Lawrence

Phyllis Jane Hines

A Celebration of Life for Phyllis Jane Hines, 84, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Hines died Thursday, April 9, 2009, at her home.
She was born on Dec. 4, 1924, in Salina, the daughter of Ralph and Ethel Robinson Cooper. She had lived in Lawrence for more than 20 years.
Mrs. Hines received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Ill. She was an elementary school teacher in Salina for many years. She also worked at the Shawnee Mission Medical Center day care center more than 10 years.
She married Jay Hines on Aug. 8, 1946, in Salina. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Jefri Franks, Parkville, Mo.; two sons, Michael Bryan, Prairie Village, and Andrew Cooper, Topeka; and six grandchildren.
One granddaughter preceded her in death.
The family suggests memorials to Midland Hospice Care, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
