Minnie Selma Fesmire

A celebration of life for Minnie Selma Fesmire, 89, Edgerton, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Edgerton United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Edgerton Cemetery.
Mrs. Fesmire died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Medicalodges in Eudora.
She was born Feb. 9, 1920, in Eudora, the daughter of Otto and Sarah Neis Abel. She graduated from Eudora High School in 1937.
Mrs. Fesmire was a homemaker and worked in the Edgerton school cafeteria from 1960 to 1968.
She was a member of Edgerton United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She taught Sunday school and held many offices at the church.
She enjoyed sewing, baking and decorating cakes, and volunteering.
She married Martin Fesmire on May 17, 1941. They lived most of their 64 years of married life in Edgerton. He preceded her in death in 2005.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Annetta Wright and Violet and George Abel.
Survivors include two daughters, Sarah McTaggart and husband Robert, Edgerton, and Mary Violett and husband Pat, Olathe; a son, Clifford E. Fesmire and wife Janet, Edgerton; a brother, Carl Abel, Eudora; two sisters, Elva Kindred, Eudora, and Marion Shutt, Lawrence; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Bruce Funeral Home in Gardner.
