Wayne C. McKenzie

No services are planned for Wayne C. McKenzie, 83, Alamo, Texas. Private inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.
Mr. McKenzie died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at the Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen, Texas.
He was born Jan. 13, 1926, in Liberal, Mo., the son of Charles F. and Dorothy Holt McKenzie.
Mr. McKenzie had lived in Eudora for several years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. McKenzie was the lead operating engineer at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo., for 16 years. He retired Jan. 13, 1988.
Mr. McKenzie was a member of the Masonic Lodge South Gate No. 547 in Kansas City, Mo., and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Isadore Hoean Post No. 7397 in Lenexa.
He married Alice A. Burns on Jan. 13, 1974, in Miami, Okla. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Glenda Harp, Hebronville, Ark., and Verla Harrell and husband Bill, St. Louis; a son, Kevin and wife Donna, Leavenworth; a sister, Louise Vick, De Soto, Texas; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
