Robert F. Miller

Graveside inurnment services for Robert F. Miller, 85, Ottawa, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa.
Mr. Miller died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Ottawa Retirement Village.
He was born July 23, 1923, in Atchison, the son of Harold and Ethel Miller. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II and the Korean War, attaining the rank of captain. He later graduated from Kansas University.
Mr. Miller owned the Ottawa Insurance Agency until his retirement in June 1998.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, the Elks and the Eagles.
He married Dorthea M. “Dot” Drake on Jan. 12, 1946. She died March 1, 2007, after 61 years of marriage.
Survivors include two daughters, Beverly J. Hartis, Olathe, and Marilyn Crowley, Prairie Village; a sister, Dorthea M. O’Neal, Ottawa; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the American Legion Ottawa Post 60, in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence
