Funeral services for MaryJane Barkley, 66, Hutchinson, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. R. Samuel Askew presiding. Burial with military honors conducted by the Kansas National Guard Honor Guard will be in Fairlawn Burial Park in Hutchinson.Mrs. Barkley died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, at Hospice House of Reno County.She was born Oct. 19, 1941, at Grace Hospital in Hutchinson, the daughter of George Ray and Jane Hamill Hornbeck. She attended Hutchinson High School and was a lifetime resident of Hutchinson.Mrs. Barkley owned Barkley’s Kwik Wash for 20 years. She worked at Smith’s Market and The Flower and Gift Gallery after selling her business. She was president of the Women’s Auxiliary Group of the 130th Field Artillery Group.She was a recipient of the Molly Pitcher Award and was also an active member of the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.Mrs. Barkley married James Elton Barkley, of Hutchinson, on Feb. 22, 1964, at the Methodist church in South Haven. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Eric Barkley, Lawrence; a daughter, Ginger Morrell and husband Kelly, Arlington; four brothers, Jack, Robert, Wayne and Gary Hornbeck, all of Hutchinson; a sister, Betty Blanchard, Florida; three grandchildren, Luke and Trent Morrell and Ian Barnett; and two great-grandchildren, Colton and Adaylee Morrell.She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Carl, Ray, Oscar and Jim Hornbeck; and three sisters, Roberta King, Helen Frank and Marge Banworth.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Friday at the chapel, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.The family suggests memorials to Hospice House of Reno County, sent in care of the mortuary, 1219 N.
