The Rev. Clyde E. Mosher 1921 - 2008 Lawrence
Memorial services for the Rev. Clyde E. Mosher, 87, Lawrence, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church in Lawrence. Private family graveside services will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.The Rev. Mosher died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.He was born on April 7, 1921, in Cuba, Ill., the son of Clyde Manley and Vesta Alys Carley Mosher. He received degrees from Phillips University and Phillips Theological Seminary in Enid, Okla. The Rev. Mosher served Christian Churches (Disciples of Christ) in Kansas, Iowa and Illinois. He retired in Lawrence in April 1986 and became a member of First Christian Church. He observed the 59th anniversary of his ordination to Christian ministry last August. He married Jacquelyn Ann Towry on Dec. 19, 1947, in Wichita. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include four sons, David and wife Edna, Leesburg, Va., Richard and wife Shirley, Kansas City, Mo., Paul and wife Kathleen, Lawrence, and James, Topeka; two brothers, Rollin, Indianapolis, and Bruce and wife Dottie, Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter-of-choice, Debby Mosher, Lawrence; seven grandchildren, Philip, Stephen, Sarah, Nicholas, Jon and Kassia Mosher and Suzanna Green; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
