Raymond Wesley Simpson Sr. 1917 - 2008 Topeka
Services for Raymond Wesley Simpson Sr., 91, Topeka, will be at 11 a.m. today at Bowser Johnson Funeral Chapel in Topeka. Mr. Simpson died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, at a Topeka nursing home. He was born Sept. 1, 1917, in Lawrence, the son of Joseph Simpson and Daisy Pearl Minor-Simpson.Mr. Simpson was an entrepreneur and owned Westside Auto Repair shop. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where he was a trustee and on the building committee.He married Gloria A. Johnson-Simpson on Feb. 1, 1962. She died in 1998.Survivors include a son, Raymond W. Jr., Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Francis F. Moncrief, Albrightsville, Pa.; four grandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the chapel before the services.
