Funeral services for Edwin Carl Fisher, 82, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.Mr. Fisher died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at Garden Terrace in Overland Park. He was born Dec. 26, 1925, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Carl and Mary Hughes Fisher. He was a resident of Lawrence since 1975. Mr. Fisher retired in 1992 as a printer from Allen Press in Lawrence.He was a former president of the Kansas City Deaf Club and a member of the Olathe Deaf Club, the Deaf Club of Topeka and the Baker’s Union in Kansas City. He was an avid bowler and was a lifetime member of the American Bowling Congress.He married Nadean Thomas on Oct. 3, 1950, in Iowa City, Iowa. She died March 29, 2005.Survivors include three daughters, Trina Fry and husband Samuel, Overland Park, Lindy Gillette and husband Ron, Olathe, and Doreen Milligan and husband Jarold, Clay Center; two brothers, John Fisher and Bobby Gene Fisher, both of Topeka; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
