Florence C. Weeks 1915 - 2008 Topeka
Services for Florence C. Weeks, 93, Topeka, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Topeka. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka.Mrs. Weeks died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008.She was born July 4, 1915, in Savonburg, of Swedish parents Robert and Alma Erickson Leadstrom. She was baptized and confirmed at Friend's Home Lutheran Church in Savonburg, where she attended public schools. She also attended Parsons Business College. She lived in Topeka since 1939 and moved to Wichita in 2004.Mrs. Weeks worked for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the Kansas Corporation Commission for 30 years until she retired in 1982. She also was a legislative secretary for many years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a former member of Priscilla Circle at the church. She also did volunteer work for the Salvation Army for many years.She married John C. Weeks. He died in 1986. Mrs. Weeks also was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Herbert Leadstrom; and a sister, Kathryn Tompkins. Survivors include a son, Dr. Mark Weeks and wife Fayon, Derby; a daughter, Linda Weeks, Lawrence; a sister, Pearl Kearns, Kansas City, Mo.; and three grandchildren, Erika and John Weeks and Anson Stancliffe.
