Hazel “Ione” Paslay

Graveside services for Hazel “Ione” Paslay, 87, Topeka, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Maple Grove Cemetery in Lecompton. Mrs. Paslay died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at her home.She was born April 5, 1921, in Butler County, the daughter of Edwin E. and Grace Gilliland Dedrick. She grew up in Oklahoma and graduated from Edmond High School. She also attended Central State College in Oklahoma.Mrs. Paslay worked at the Edmond First National Bank, Tinker Air Force Base, Boeing Aircraft in Wichita and Pan American Petroleum Corporation in Oklahoma City. She was a member of Eastern Star in Edmond, Okla., the Rebekah Lodge in Wichita, Lecompton Historical Society and the Lecompton Goldenrods. She married Charles Paslay on Sept. 30, 1961, in Wichita. He died in May of 2001.Survivors include many nieces and nephews, three grandnephews and a grandniece. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.The family suggests memorials to the Lecompton Historical Society, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolence may be left at rumsey-yost.com.
