Lawrence Glenn Rogers 1935 - 2008 Williamstown
Graveside services for Lawrence Glenn Rogers, 72, Gilchrist, Texas, formerly of Jefferson County, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Underwood Cemetery in Williamstown. Funeral services were Saturday at First Baptist Church in Stowell, Texas.Mr. Rogers died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, at Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston.He was born Nov. 11, 1935, in Perry, the son of Jewell Lee and Iva Opal Winfrey Rogers. He had lived in Gilchrist since 1992. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.Mr. Rogers married Mary Alice Oeltjen on June 20, 1959, in San Benito, Texas. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include three sons, Cary, Gilchrist, Gary, Lawrence, and Craig, Houston; three daughters, Audrey Nagy, Oskaloosa, Allene Spencer, Cushing, Texas, and Stacy Munsch, Port Bolivar, Texas; a brother, Dale, Topeka; a sister, Rosa Lee Perron, Crowley, La.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by a son, Alan Dale, in 1966.Friends may call from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.
