De Erma Tippie 1928 - 2008 Lenexa
Private graveside inurnment services for De Erma Tippie, 80, Lenexa, will be 11 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery.Mrs. Tippie died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at Sunrise Senior Living in Lenexa.She was born June 4, 1928, in Friendship, Okla., the daughter of Frank and Irene Fowler Lankford. She graduated from Blair High School in Blair, Okla., in 1946.She lived in Salina for many years and moved to Lawrence in 1993. Mrs. Tippie enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She and her husband were avid KU fans and enjoyed all sports. She also enjoyed attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events and playing golf.She married John W. "Dub" Tippie on Aug. 15, 1948, in Blair, Okla. He died June 25, 2005.Survivors include a daughter, Vickie McMullen, Olathe; two sons, Brent, Galena, Ohio, and Chris, Crowley, Texas; a sister, Jo Reta Nipp, Amarillo, Texas; and two brothers, Roland Lankford, Amarillo Texas, and Phillip Lankford, Altus, Okla.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, sent in care of Lawrence Funeral Chapel.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.barnettchapeloaks.com">barnettchapeloaks.com</a>.
