Charles L. Beckford 1928 - 2008 Fulton
Funeral services for Charles L. Beckford, 80, Fulton, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at West Liberty United Methodist Church in Fulton. Burial will follow in Mapleton Cemetery in Mapleton. Mr. Beckford died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, at Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott. He was born March 17, 1928, in Mapleton. Survivors include his wife Mary "Sug" Snyder Beckford, of the home; a son, Randy L., Fulton; a daughter; Vickie S. Lord, Lawrence; a sister; Joyce Sipe, Devon; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home in Fort Scott.The family suggests memorials to West Liberty United Methodist Church, the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Association, sent in care of the funeral home, 15 W. Wall St., P.O. Box 309, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
