Leonard Wayne Hysten 1925 - 2008
Funeral services for Leonard Wayne Hysten, 83, Ozawkie, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Williamstown Assembly of God Church in Williamstown. Burial with American Legion honors will follow at the Ozawkie Cemetery.Mr. Hysten died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at the home of his daughter in Whiting.He was born on Jan. 2, 1925, in Ozawkie, the son of Fred and Zephyr Archer Hysten. He attended Ozawkie High School.Mr. Hysten served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. He was a farmer and worked his own farm.He was a member of the Williamstown Assembly of God Church and the American Legion Post 225 in Ozawkie.Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie Elaine Hysten, Topeka, and Irene Malia Ross, Whiting; two brothers, John, Ozawkie, and Lloyd, Topeka; two sisters, Evelyn Fischer, Ozawkie, and Mary L. Shepard, Lawrence; one granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.The family will meet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Barnett Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.The family suggests memorials to the Williamstown Assembly of God Church, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
