Kenneth Eugene Hobson 1924 - 2008 Baldwin City
Memorial services for Kenneth Eugene Hobson, 84, Baldwin City, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ives Chapel United Methodist Church in Baldwin City. Inurnment will be in Sutton Cemetery.Mr. Hobson died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at the Baldwin Healthcare facility.He was born Sept. 1, 1924, in Baldwin City, the son of Gerald and Ida Sutton Hobson.Mr. Hobson served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked at Baker University as a maintenance man and also as a boiler operator at Kansas University. He was also a farmer. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.Survivors include two sons, Alan, Kansas City, Kan., and Kendall, Preston, Idaho; a daughter, Rena Janacek, San Francisco; a brother, Jim, Hutchinson; a sister, Geraldine Martin, Baldwin City; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the church before the services.The family suggests memorials to Heart of America Hospice, sent in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 712 Ninth St., Baldwin City, KS 66006.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="mailto:lamb-roberts.com">lamb-roberts.com</a>.
