Funeral services for Esther Amelia Corbett, 90, Omaha, Neb., will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.Mrs. Corbett died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at the Lutheran Home in Omaha, Neb.She was born Jan. 1, 1918, in Hoisington, the daughter of Jacob and Katherine Kline Manweiler. She graduated from Hoisington High School. She moved to Lawrence in 1957, where she was a longtime resident.Mrs. Corbett was a real estate agent and worked for McGrew Real Estate for 26 years from 1961 to 1987. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and Beta Sigma Phi and a former member of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce, all in Lawrence.She married Harold G. Corbett on Jan. 8, 1940, in Hoisington. He died Aug. 2, 1985.Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Sue Corbett, Dallas; two sons, Michael D. Corbett, Omaha, Neb., and John P. Corbett, Merriam; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the mortuary before the services.The family suggests memorials to the Lutheran Home, sent in care of the mortuary.
