Marcella Nancy Radford

Funeral services for Marcella Nancy Radford, 78, of Wellsville, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Miami County. Mrs. Radford died Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at her home in Wellsville.She was born Oct. 10, 1930, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Martin and Ruth Davidson Holtsclaw. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1948. She had lived in Wellsville since 1977, moving there from Kansas City, Kan. Mrs. Radford was employed at CertainTeed Fiberglass of Kansas City, Kan., retiring in 1985. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Paola, where she taught Sunday school classes. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and working in her yard. She was a fan of Kansas University basketball.She married Richard Radford on June 12, 1952, in Kansas City, Kan. He preceded her in death on June 8, 1983. Mrs. Radford was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Lori Radford; a son, Richard W. Radford; a sister, Charlotte Morton; and two brothers, Jim Holtsclaw and John Holtsclaw.Survivors include two sons, Rocky Radford and wife Becky, Lawrence, and Robert Radford, Miami, Okla.; a sister, Helen DeFries, Bonner Springs; a brother, Billy Holtsclaw and wife, Pat, Olathe; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.Friends may call from 9 a.m. Friday at the mortuary, where the family will meet them from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour.The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, sent in care of Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
