Dorothy A. Streator

Funeral services for Dorothy A. Streator, 93, Oskaloosa, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Oskaloosa United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery in Oskaloosa.Mrs. Streator died Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born Nov. 10, 1915, in Yoder, Colo., the daughter of Herman Daniel and Minnie Clark Townley. She attended Western Union College in LeMars, Iowa, and Emporia Teacher’s College. She had lived in Oskaloosa since 1954, moving from Denton.Mrs. Streator taught school for two years at the Lauverance School near Severance. She then worked as a clerk typist for the Midwest Psychological Field Station at Kansas University for many years. She was a member of the Oskaloosa United Methodist Church, where she served as church secretary for 12 years and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Colonial Club of Oskaloosa. She married Henry Leroy Streator on Aug. 7, 1938, in Leona. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2002.Survivors include two sons, Harold, Chicago, and Richard, Oskaloosa; one daughter, Marian Holroyd, Mascoutah, Ill.; one brother, Gerald, Hiawatha; and one grandson.Friends may call from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.
