Ottawa — Funeral services for Betty I. Lambert, 86, Baldwin City, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at North Baptist Church in Ottawa. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Ottawa.Mrs. Lambert died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at Baldwin Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Baldwin City.She was born Aug. 3, 1922, in Ottawa, the daughter of David L. and May E. Hanna McGee. She graduated from Ottawa High School in 1941, and had lived in Ottawa all of her life before moving to Baldwin City in 2006. She had worked in a telephone office, at F.W. Woolworth, and at North American Aviation in Kansas City, Mo., as a riveter on planes during World War II. She had also sold Stanley Products, Avon, Tupperware, jewelry and crystal, and loved to hold parties. She was also in charge of the Franklin County U.S.O. Overseas Food Coupon Support Group. She worked 19 years in food service for the Ottawa school district before retirement.She attended North Baptist Church and was a charter member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 5901 Auxiliary in Ottawa. She held various offices, including president of the local auxiliary and president of the 2nd District Auxiliary. She married Roy W. Lambert on Aug. 23, 1941, in Wellsville. He preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 2003.Mrs. Lambert was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marjorie James. Survivors include three daughters, Dixie Farrell, Lawrence, Shirley Glass and husband Max, Olathe, and Patty Bunch and husband Tom, Ottawa; five grandchildren, Julie Tesmer, Michele Rutledge, Hollie Carrender, Tiffany Blecha, and Tim Bunch; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Harvey Lambert and wife Lois, Tampa, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Starbuck and husband Jim, Topeka. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Thursday at Dengel & Son Mortuary, where the family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.The family suggests memorials to North Baptist Church Building Fund or Heart of America Hospice, sent in care of the mortuary, 235 S.
