Bob Jack King

Walterboro, S.C. – Services for Bob Jack King, 85, Little River, S.C., will be at a later date.Mr. King died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, at Veteran’s Victory House in Walterboro.He was born Sept. 7, 1923, in Jerome, Idaho, the son of Ivan R. and Katharyn Burgoine King.Mr. King served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, where he was stationed in the South Pacific. He was retired from the Housing Department of Kansas University and was of the Episcopalian faith.He was a member and past exalted ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 546 in Lawrence, and a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed playing golf.Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Rosemary Nation King; a son, John Nation King; two daughters, Katharyn Rose King, Omaha, Neb., and Stacy Lynn King, Little River, S.C.; a sister, Donna King Saile, Baldwin City; five grandchildren, Corbin, Cameron, Kayla, Amber and Gabrielle; and his special companion, Ms. Divot.Brice W.
