Shirley Mae Griffiths

Memorial services for Shirley Mae Griffiths, 73, McLouth, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Mrs. Griffiths died Monday, May 19, 2008, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.She was born Jan. 22, 1935, in Anson, the daughter of William Glen and Ina Elizabeth Trollope Sanders.Mrs. Griffiths worked at Western Union for more than 20 years. She was a member of the Christian Church. She was first lady of the Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of Kansas and a member of S.O.O.B. She married Mack Griffiths on Nov. 19, 1965, in Wichita. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include a daughter, Shawn Michelle Griffiths, Oskaloosa; two sons, Randal and wife Maria, Rich Hill, Mo., and Dan Michael and wife Danielle, San Francisco; a sister, Glenda Liechty, Westminster, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.Mrs. Griffiths was preceded in death by two brothers, William Dale and Gary Floyd Sanders.
