Charles R. Worley 1925 - 2008 Lawrence
Memorial services for Charles R. Worley, 82, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Central United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery.Mr. Worley died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was born Dec. 11, 1925, in Lecompton, the son of Russell Charles and Dora Bell Dunn Worley. He graduated from Lecompton High School in 1944.Mr. Worley served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He worked as a supervisor for the Lawrence Paper Co. for many years. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Lawrence, where he served on the board of trustees and was active in church functions.He married Erma L. Wulfkuhle on Sept. 11, 1949, in Lawrence. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Michael C., Lawrence; a daughter, Sherry A. Ellison, Baldwin City; a brother, Robert L., Lawrence; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of Lawrence Funeral Chapel.
