James Edward "Jim" Love 1931 - 2008 Lawrence
Funeral services for James Edward "Jim" Love, 77, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.Mr. Love died Monday, May 12, 2008, at Rolling Hills Health Center in Topeka after a long illness.He was born Feb. 7, 1931, in Lawrence, the son of Raymond and Susie Mae Parks Love. Mr. Love served in the U.S. Army for three years as an artilleryman and later trained soldiers in heavy artillery. He owned and operated Allen's Window Shade Company in Kansas City, Mo., for 30 years.Survivors include a daughter, Dianna Love Ross, Topeka; a son, Danny R., Topeka; a brother, Lee L., Lawrence; a sister, Lucille Tuckel, Lawrence; a son-in-law, Tom Ross, Topeka; and five grandsons.He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Grant; and two sisters, Esther Weeks and Eileen Gish.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.The family suggests memorials to Rolling Hills Health Center in Topeka, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at www.rumsey-yost.com.
