Christopher L. Wempe 1988 - 2008 Lawrence
Mass of Christian Burial for Christopher L. Wempe, 20, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. The burial will be in the church cemetery.Mr. Wempe died Monday, May 12, 2008, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Lincoln, Neb., after an acute illness.He was born March 9, 1988, in Seneca, the son of Daniel and JoAnn Dalsing Wempe. He grew up in Seneca and graduated from Nemaha Valley High School in 2006. He was a sophomore at Kansas University, where he studied chemical engineering.He worked at Ray's Applemart in Seneca during high school and at Hy-Vee in Lawrence while he attended Kansas University. He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Church.Survivors include his parents; three brothers, Scott, Topeka, Brian, Lochbuie, Colo., and Jason, Manhattan; his grandparents, Kenneth and Mary Dalsing; and special friend, Ariel Hecke.Rosaries will be prayed at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.The family suggests memorials to Nemaha Valley Community Hospital, sent in care of the funeral home, 212 S. Fourth St., Seneca, KS 66538.
