William Alvin “Squirrel” Reynolds

Funeral services for William Alvin “Squirrel” Reynolds, 85, Winchester, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at New Testament Christian Church in Winchester. Burial will follow in Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery in Winchester.Mr. Reynolds died Sunday, May 11, 2008, at Olathe Medical Center.He was born April 24, 1923, in Winchester. He graduated from Winchester High School in 1941. He was a lifelong resident of the Winchester and Mooney Creek communities. Mr. Reynolds was a farmer and stockman in the Mooney Creek community from 1944 until he retired in 2003. He also was a school bus driver in the Winchester public school district for 14 years. He was a member of New Testament Christian Church in Winchester.He married Betty Jeanne Ragland on Sept. 28, 1944, in Leavenworth. She survives, of the home. Other survivors include two sons, William C. “Bill”, Stewartsville, Mo., and Bob, Ottawa; a daughter, Beth Weishaar, Topeka; three brothers, James, Nortonville, and Harvey and Don, both of Winchester; a sister, Dora Kiernan, Winchester; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis; and two sisters, Irene Smith and Ethel Coppinger.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
