Virginia Aline Knecht 1915 - 2008 Wamego
A graveside service for Virginia Aline Knecht, 93, Boulder, Colo., will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Wamego City Cemetery. Mrs. Knecht died Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Frasier Meadows Health Care Center in Boulder, Colo.She was born Jan. 3, 1915, north of Nickerson, the daughter of Thomas Arthur and Pansy LaBrue Case. She received a bachelor's degree in education from Kansas State University and a master's degree from Emporia State Teachers College. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. Mrs. Knecht taught physical education in Topeka for many years and was later a guidance counselor in Lawrence. She was a member of the Methodist church, loved playing the piano and was an avid sports enthusiast. She had been a resident of Boulder, Colo., since 2002 and previously lived in Hot Springs Village, Ark. She married John C. Knecht on Feb. 7, 1942. Survivors include a son, Larry R. Knecht, Nederland, Colo.The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care of Boulder and Broomfield Counties or the Residents Assistance Fund at Frasier Meadows Manor, sent in care of Stewart Funeral Home, P.O.
