Bonnie D. Athey 1940 - 2008 Oklahoma City
Funeral services for Bonnie D. Athey, 67, Oklahoma City, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Overbrook Cemetery.Mrs. Athey died Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Oklahoma City.She was born Aug. 19, 1940, in Lawrence, the daughter of Roy and Dorothy M. Malone Grammer. She lived in the Lawrence area until 1975. She moved to Tulsa in 1975 and to Oklahoma City in 2008. Mrs. Athey worked at various jobs in Lawrence including Litwin's clothing store, a drug store and Hallmark Cards. She attended the Church of Christ in Lawrence and various churches, including Evangelistic Temple and Hillsdale Holiness Church in Tulsa.She married Jesse Jacob Athey Jr. on Feb. 28, 1955, in Lawrence. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include two sons, Jeffery Athey, Oklahoma City, and Anthony Athey, Sapulpa, Okla.; a daughter, Bonnita Disch, Kansas City, Kan.; a brother, Frank Grammer, De Soto; and three grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.rumsey-yost.com">www.rumsey-yost.com</a>.
