Barbara Boeve Schmidt 1937 - 2008 Sioux Falls, S.D.
Funeral services for Barbara Boeve Schmidt, 70, Sioux Falls, S.D., will be at 2 p.m. today at Minnehaha Funeral Home in Baltic, S.D. Burial will be in St. Olaf Cemetery in Baltic.Mrs. Schmidt died Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Covington Heights in Sioux Falls, S.D.She was born June 26, 1937, in Lawrence, Kan., the daughter of Fred and Ruby Mae Black Weeks. She grew up in Lecompton, Kan. She lived in Baltic, S.D., Lecompton and Atchison, Kan., and then moved to Sioux Falls, S.D.Mrs. Schmidt worked in construction. She also worked for the carnival for five years. She was a member of Women of Today, where she served as director, vice president and chaplain on a local level and received the Outstanding Member of the Year from the state association.She married Al Boeve on Oct. 4, 1957. She married Dale Schmidt on July 17, 1998. He survives, of Sioux Falls, S.D.Other survivors include two sons, Randy Boeve, Sioux Falls, S.D., and Steve Boeve, Baltic, S.D.; a daughter, Debra Eastman, Sioux Falls, S.D.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Roger Schmidt, Boise, Idaho, and Ronald Schmidt, Sioux Falls, S.D.; a brother, Bob Weeks, Lecompton, Kan.; and two sisters, Betty Beckwith, Carbondale, Kan., and Ann Hibner, Springville, Tenn.
