Roberta M. "Bert" Barrett Murren 1927 - 2008 Topeka
Funeral services for Roberta M. "Bert" Barrett Murren, 80, Richland, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in Topeka. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Cemetery.Mrs. Murren died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at her home.She was born Aug. 16, 1927, in Richland, the daughter of William "Glenn" and Reata McCorkle Barrett. Mrs. Murren worked at VanNice Hardware in the 1940s.She married Leroy Vern Murren on June 3, 1946. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Wayne Murren and wife LaRae, Lawrence; a daughter, Karen Stamey, Decatur, Texas; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, William "Bud" Barrett, Ottawa; and two sisters, Winona Plummer, Lecompton, and Helen May, Scranton. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association, 837 S.
