Collie Arnold

Memorial services for Collie Arnold, 88, De Soto, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Eudora Chapel.Mr. Arnold died Tuesday, April 29, 2008.He was born May 2, 1919, in Sylmore, Ark., the son of Vetus Arnold and Angeline Moody. He moved from Calico Rock, Ark., to De Soto in 1952.Mr. Arnold worked at Sunflower Ammunition Plant as a carpenter from 1952 until he retired in 1981. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, antiquing and telling a good joke.Survivors include his wife, Snowdean; four daughters, Debbie Kester and husband Terry, Riverside, Calif.; Evelyn Bourland and husband Don, Grandbury, Texas; Pam Murphy and husband Earl, Miami, Okla.; Karen Lasley and husband Robert, Lawrence; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers and sisters.The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the chapel before the services.Heartland Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
