Zenaida C. “Zeny” Torres Walmsley

Graveside inurnment services for Zenaida C. “Zeny” Torres Walmsley, 70, Ottawa, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Union Cemetery near Centropolis. Mrs. Walmsley died Thursday, March 20, 2008, at Olathe Medical Center.She was born Oct. 13, 1937, in Dulag, Leyte, Philippines, the daughter of Rafael and Rosario Cacara Torres. She grew up and graduated from high school in Leyte. She graduated from college in Manila, Philippines, with a degree in business finance. She lived in New York from 1981 to 1994 before she moved to Ottawa.Mrs. Walmsley and her husband owned and operated Central States Vending Machines for many years. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa. She enjoyed bowling, going to the casinos with her husband, spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren. She married James Raymond Walmsley Sr. on Nov. 14, 1963, in Quezon City, Manila, Philippines. They shared more than 44 years of marriage. He survives, of the home.Other survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Mann and husband Andy, Cape Girardeau, Mo.; a son, James R. Walmsley Jr. and wife Amanda, Lawrence; four grandchildren, Ashley and Lauren Mann and Steven and Jamie Walmsley.Mrs. Walmsley was preceded in death by her parents.The family suggests memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, sent in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O.
