Angeline C. “Angie” Kruger

Mass of Christian Burial for Angeline C. “Angie” Kruger, 90, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Scammon. Burial will follow in the Saint Bridget’s Cemetery in Scammon. Mrs. Kruger died Monday, March 17, 2008, at Brandon Woods Nursing Home in Lawrence.She was born Sept. 7, 1917, in Capaldo, the daughter of Mike and Amelia Sesso Zaccarello. She attended elementary schools in Skidmore and 42 Camp and graduated from West Mineral High School in 1937 as class valedictorian. She lived in a variety of locations, but she spent most of her life in the 42 Camp/Columbus, Kan., and Cherokee areas. Mrs. Kruger worked in different secretarial positions upon graduation and was employed by Parsons Army Ammunition Plant, Spencer Chemical, Maxwell Bridge Co., Pyramid Life Insurance Co. and Kansas University Medical Center. She retired in 1988.She was a member of St. Anastasia’s Catholic Church in Cherokee and St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Scammon. She enjoyed bowling, KU basketball, casino trips, cooking and entertaining her family.She married Otto J. Kruger Sr. on Oct. 12, 1951, in Arkansas. He died May 13, 1998.She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Wadino.Survivors include a son, Otto J. “Buddy” Kruger Jr., Edgerton; three daughters, Pat Lomshek and husband Bing and Lori S. Kruger, both of Lawrence, and Debra Wood-Fowler and husband J.W., Lee’s Summit, Mo.; a brother, Frank Zaccarello and wife Lorene, Columbus, Kan.; a sister, Lillian Lanning, Mission; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Weir, where a rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday and the family will receive friends until 8 p.m. Sunday.The family suggests memorials to St. Bridget’s Catholic Church Building Fund, sent in care of the funeral home, 104 W.
