Richard LaVerne "Trapper" Kahle 1947 - 2008 Lawrence

Services for Richard LaVerne "Trapper" Kahle, 61, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in East View Cemetery in Big Springs.Mr. Kahle died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., after suffering a heart attack and later a stroke. He was born March 3, 1947, in Junction City, the son of Marvin and Ruth Tally Kahle. He graduated from Lecompton High School.Mr. Kahle served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, including a one-year tour of duty in Korea. He worked as a backhoe operator and foreman for the city of Lawrence Water Department and later worked for Kahle Inc. until a motorcycle accident left him disabled. He married his high school sweetheart, Rosalee Walter. They divorced.Survivors include two brothers, Randall, Big Springs, and Gary, Topeka. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Marvin E. and Gale D.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.The family suggests memorials to the East View Cemetery Association, sent in care of the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent at <a href="http://www.rumsey-yost.com">www.rumsey-yost.com</a>.
