Memorial services for Rosemary Nelson, 81, Salina, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church in Salina. Private family burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park in Salina.Mrs. Nelson died Saturday, June 21, 2008. She was born April 8, 1927, in Topeka, the daughter of Lloyd and Ethel Gaines. She was raised in Lawrence and graduated from Kansas University, where she was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She moved to Salina in 1951.Mrs. Nelson was a member of P.E.O. Chapter DL. She enjoyed tennis, painting gardening and spending time at Sunflower Adult Day Services.She married C. Stanley Nelson in 1949. He survives, of the home. Other survivors include four sons, Steve, Salina, Jeff and wife Lisa, Overland Park, Mike, Fairway, and Kendal, Wichita; two sisters, Beverly "Boo" Gibson, Jewell, and Marjorie McCardell, Bella Vista, Ark.; and four grandchildren, Chris, Colby, Carley and Kate Nelson.She was preceded in death by a sister, June McMillen.The family suggests memorials to Salina Adult Day Services or Alzheimer's Association, sent in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N.
